Why We Built This
The idea for Gravity Vault came from a simple observation of how we live today. We use our phones for everything - sharing family photos, collaborating on work, and staying connected. Cloud services have made this easier than ever. However, we noticed that while we have many places to share our lives, we have very few places to truly keep them.
We wanted to build the digital equivalent of that one private drawer we all have at home - the one where you keep your most important papers, your most personal journals, and your cherished family photos. We realized that many users were looking for a simple, dedicated space that stays entirely on their device, away from the complex world of accounts and syncing.
We looked at every vault app on the market. They all had the same flaw: they required trust. Trust the company won't be acquired. Trust the servers won't be breached. Trust the cloud backup isn't a liability. We didn't want trust - we wanted proof.
Gravity Vault was designed from day one with a single constraint: we must be technically incapable of accessing your data. No server-side keys. No cloud sync. No analytics. Zero internet permissions. Your privacy is protected by design, not just by promise.
